Aloha, I’m Ernie Martin, candidate for the Honolulu City Council District 2 (Mililani Mauka, Wahiawa, Whitmore Village, Mokuleia, Waialua, Haleiwa, Waimea, Pupukea, Sunset Beach, Kahuku, Laie, Hauula, Punaluu, Kahana, Kaaawa, Kualoa, Waiahole, Waikane, Kahaluu, Ahuimanu, and a portion of Heeia). As a dedicated husband, father, attorney, city administrator, and a resident of the district for more than 20 years, I share similar concerns with you about the economy, traffic, the need for affordable rentals and housing, long-term care for our elders, and the type of legacy we will leave for our keiki. That is why I’m ready and willing to serve as your next City Council member and humbly ask for your support.
Born and raised in Hawaii, I grew up in a neighborhood plagued with violence, drugs, and prostitution. Through strong family values, and positive role models, I managed to beat the odds, and find a rewarding career in the same city department where I received services as a disadvantaged youth.
Seeking public office is not about revitalizing a career, or using this position as a stepping stone. It is about serving the community and putting people first. I invite you to learn more about my qualifications and my story in this website.
Mahalo,
Ernie Martin
